We embrace the essence of martial arts while adapting to the realities of modern self-defense. Even though we don't teach traditional hapkido, we teach the techniques, concepts and principles of hapkido, sanda and arnis. We are first and foremost a self-defense school with certified black belt instructors. We teach and train people in preparation for violent conflict, not in preserving traditions. It's an important distinction to make when looking for a martial arts class.

Combat Hapkido is a 100% self-defense-focused martial art that excludes forms (Kata/Hyungs) and emphasizes kicks aimed at the lower body, avoiding acrobatic techniques.
It incorporates controlled break falls and throws minimally, while omitting hard blocks, stances, and traditional weapon training like swords or fans; instead, the curriculum covers self-defense tools such as canes, short sticks, and belts.
This comprehensive discipline includes specialized techniques for disarming firearms and a robust ground defense program. As a flexible and dynamic system, Combat Hapkido constantly evolves.
Notably, it's not a sport and remains unaltered by competition or tournaments, prioritizing practical self-defense over competition.
We're thrilled that you're considering taking the next step towards empowerment and self-defense with Combat Hapkido. If you have any questions, want more information about our classes, or are ready to join our community, we're here to assist you.
